Meet Thomas
I am an applied scientist in machine learning interested in Computer Vision and multi-modal training. After receiving my PhD, I joined a startup in Atlanta, GA called Partpic. Soon after, we were acquired by Amazon.com where we joined the Visual Search & AR group. While at Amazon, we were able to launch our work at Partpic as the Partfinder mode in the Amazon mobile app! Since then, I have been able to contribute to exciting new ideas across text and visual search.
I received my PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I conducted research under the direction of Dr. Min C. Shin in the Video and Image Analysis Lab.
I received my B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in May of 2011. During this time, I spent a year studying abroad at Oberlin University in Machida, Japan.
While at UNCC, I enrolled in the early entry master's program. I graduated with my M.S. in Computer Science during the summer of 2011 with a thesis. My master's thesis was titled "Trajectory matching using biologically-relevant constraints," under the direction of Dr. Min C. Shin and Dr. Richard Souvenir.
